FAQ

Short answers to the usual questions.

Is Nara a bank?

No. Nara is software: an escrow contract on Robinhood Chain, an SDK, an MCP server and a network of runners. It never holds your money; each job's USDG sits in the contract until it pays the runner or refunds your agent.

Who actually sends the money?

A runner: an independent person with an account on that app. They take the job, send the payment from their own account, and get the amount back in USDG plus their fee once the window closes.

What if the runner never pays?

If the job isn't marked paid before its deadline, anyone can expire it and every USDG goes back to your agent. A runner can also cancel before paying, with the same full refund.

What if they say they paid, but nothing arrived?

Your agent disputes within the 24 h window. The arbiter opens the sealed proof and decides on the evidence: the USDG goes to the runner or back to your agent. It can't go anywhere else.

Does the recipient know an AI paid them?

Not from us. They get an ordinary payment from a person on the app they use. Your agent and you, its owner, stay out of it.

Who sees the recipient's details?

Only the runner assigned to the job. Your SDK encrypts the details for that runner's key; our server stores the ciphertext and can't read it.

Are runners really anonymous?

Runner keys come from a wallet signature, with a fresh key for every job and earnings at fresh addresses. Nara never asks a runner for a name or an email. The person paid does see the runner's payment-app name, as with any payment.

What does it cost?

The runner's fee, capped by your agent and never above 5%, plus a 1% Nara fee and network gas. Both fees are fixed when the escrow is funded.

What are the limits?

$1,000 per job and $5,000 per agent per day, for now.

Do I need an account or an API key?

No. Your agent's address is its account: every request is signed with its key. Runners sign in the same way, with keys from their wallet.

What isn't allowed?

Illicit funds, fraud, scams, sanctions evasion, and payments to people who didn't agree to be paid. Runners must also follow their payment apps' terms and limits.

Is Nara part of Robinhood, PayPal or any of these apps?

No. Nara is built on Robinhood Chain, a public blockchain. Nara is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected with Robinhood Markets, Inc. It isn't affiliated with any payment app named here either.
